Terms of Service

These terms apply to the VatPulse API and website (the "Service"), operated by VatPulse. By using the Service you agree to them. If you subscribe through RapidAPI, RapidAPI's terms also apply to your subscription and payment.

1. What the Service does

The Service checks EU VAT numbers against the European Commission's VIES system (and UK numbers against HMRC, where enabled) and validates IBANs offline using published standards and official bank directories. VatPulse is not affiliated with the European Commission, any national tax administration, HMRC or any bank.

2. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Results come from VIES, HMRC and official bank directories, which may themselves be wrong, out of date or unavailable. Cached and "stale" results show the last answer we received, which may not match the current registration status. An IBAN check confirms format and checksum only. It does not confirm that an account exists. You are responsible for your own tax, compliance and payment decisions.

3. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee it. Upstream services, especially VIES and individual member-state systems, are often unavailable; the Service reports this with explicit error codes.

4. Acceptable use

You may use the Service in your own products and internal processes. You may not:

resell, sublicense or redistribute raw access to the API (for example, offering it as your own validation API, or sharing keys);
try to get around rate limits or quotas, use multiple accounts to evade them, or overload the Service;
probe, scan or attack the Service or its infrastructure, or use it for anything unlawful.

5. Keys and suspension

Keep your API key secret; you are responsible for usage under it. We may suspend or revoke keys that breach these terms, put the Service or its upstream providers at risk, or show signs of abuse, with notice where practical.

6. Plans and pricing

Plans, quotas and prices are listed on this website and on the RapidAPI listing. We may change pricing or plans with at least 30 days' notice on the RapidAPI listing and/or this website; changes apply from your next billing period. RapidAPI handles billing, renewals and cancellations for RapidAPI subscriptions.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VatPulse is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or tax penalties. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid for the Service in the month before the event giving rise to the claim (zero on the free plan).

8. Changes

We may update these terms; the date above shows the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
